Coach Stephen Strauss
Founder, Tennis One Lessons
Steve has vast experience playing and teaching competitive tennis. He was taught the game by the Head Pro at the Washington Golf and Country Club on the public courts at Yorktown High School in Arlington, VA. He played #1 for Langley High School in McLean, VA. his junior and senior years. He was a member of the Water Polo, Swimming and Tennis Teams at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He is a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association with their insurance coverage and specializes in the USTA’s Quick Start Program for 4 to 10 year olds.
To improve his game and teaching techniques, he attended the adult program at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy. He brings a deep understanding of the game and a positive approach.
Before Tennis one lessons
Before starting TOL, Steve had a successful career in new product and marketing development in the pharmaceutical industry. He started, managed, and sold a clinical contract research organization.
Steve has always played tennis for exercise and enjoyment, so after commercial success, he decided to begin sharing his love for tennis with others.
